Privacy policy

This page describes what happens to data when you visit Acknosoft. It is written to match how the site is actually built rather than to cover every case a template might list, so it is shorter than most.

What we do not collect

There are no user accounts, no registration, no newsletter, and no contact form. We ask for nothing and store nothing about you on our own servers.

Search runs entirely in your browser. When you search, the page downloads a single index file and filters it locally. Your search terms are never sent to us and we have no way to see them.

The site itself sets no cookies and uses no browser storage.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and which apps people download. It sets cookies and records your approximate location (derived from your IP address, not precise), device type, browser, and the pages you view.

We also record two events of our own:

• download_intent — when you click through from an app page to its download page
• download_start — when you click the download link itself

Each carries the app's name, package identifier and category. These tell us which listings are useful; they are not linked to you as an individual.

You can opt out with Google's browser add-on, or by blocking the script in your browser. The site works normally either way.

Third parties involved

• Cloudflare serves the site and protects it from attack. It processes requests on our behalf and may set its own cookies for bot detection. Its logs include IP addresses.
• Google Analytics, as described above.
• Google Play — download links point there. Once you follow one, Google's policies apply and we have no further visibility.

Application icons and screenshots are served from our own storage rather than from a third party, so viewing an app page does not report anything to its developer.

Logs

Our server keeps standard access logs — IP address, time, page requested, user agent — for operating the site and diagnosing problems. They are not used to build profiles and are not shared.

Children

The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Content ratings shown on app pages come from Google Play and describe the application, not this website.

Your choices

Because we hold no account and no identifier of our own, there is generally nothing for us to look up, correct or delete. Requests concerning data held by Google Analytics are best made to Google directly. If you have a question about any of this, write to hello@acknosoft.com.

Changes

If we add anything that collects data — advertising being the obvious candidate — this page will be updated before it goes live, and the date at the top will change.
